Online Services Privacy Policy
CTCU is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. We want to protect the personal information that you have entrusted to us. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. To ensure that you can rely upon the quality of products and services we make available to you on our website and mobile applications, CTCU stands behind the following privacy pledge and policy.
We pledge that:
- We will maintain and monitor security measures to protect your privacy and the integrity of all CTCU financial data.

- We will collect and use information only to the business purpose of serving or anticipating your financial needs.
- We will share credit history information with credit reporting agencies, as needed.

General website pages: As a general policy, CTCU does not automatically collect personal information from users of its website. CTCU does collect and store: information on the domain a user employs to access its website, the Internet address of the website from which a user links to the website, and the date and time of the visit to the website. This information is used for statistical purposes to measure the number of visitors to our website and the route a user travels while within the website, and also to better serve users in improved design and site navigation. CTCU uses Cookies (A Cookie is a file placed on your hard drive by a Web site that allows it to monitor your visit, usually without your knowledge) for marketing purposes. You can set your browser to warn you when placement of a Cookie is requested and decide whether or not to accept it.
Chat: Our site uses chat functionality to facilitate communication between current and prospective members and member service representatives. Chat sessions may be archived as a means of review for service quality. Chat sessions are held to the same privacy standards as teller or phone transactions. Certain banking transactions are not permitted through chat due to the limitations of online authentication.
On-line Banking and Mobile App: To ensure your privacy and financial security, we require you to enter a password before you may log onto our On-line Banking service. On-line Banking pages are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) to help ensure your privacy. Personal identification (i.e. account number, password) is collected when a credit union member with active credit union account(s) has registered to enter the secure on-line banking area of the CTCU website. This information enables us to regulate access of this information to those who request such access and those entitled to perform transactions on these account(s). To ensure navigation access from your computer to our host servers, we employ the use of Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information a website stores on a visitor's web browser to remind the site about the user the next time he or she visits the site. CTCU does not store confidential or sensitive information in cookies. Cookies cannot be used to capture a user's e-mail address, obtain data from the user's hard drive or gain confidential or sensitive information about the user.
Location Data (Mobile App). Location Data is collected to provide location-based messages, offers, and interactions. CTCU mobile collects location data to enable push notifications even when the app is closed or not in use. It also is used to support promotional offers from the CTCU. If you use any location-based feature of CTCU mobile, you agree that your geographic location and other personal information may be accessed and disclosed through CTCU. If you wish to revoke access to such information, you must cease using location-based features of CTCU mobile via your device's settings
CTCU does not sell or provide any member information to any list service. We will disclose information to third parties about your account or the transaction you engage in: (a) where it is necessary for completing transactions, or (b) in order to verify the existence and condition of your account for a third party, such as a credit bureau or merchant, or (c) in order to comply with government agency or court orders, subpoenas and other legal documents, or (d) if you give CTCU your permission, or (e) to perform duties outside of normal credit union operations, such as the production and mailing of account statements or plastic card production. As part of our agreements, these service companies agree to keep all credit union data confidential.
FOR YOUR SECURITY: We recommend that you change your password periodically. To change your On-line Account Access password after you have logged in, select the user Options button and follow the steps provided. To change your ART password, call 775-1711 inside the 847 area code and 1-877-342-4788 outside the 847 area code, select option 8 and follow the steps provided.
E-Mail Communication: Personal information transmitted to CTCU may be used by credit union staff to respond to inquiries for service or for information to improve the service CTCU provides. Since e-mail communication may not be secure against interception by unauthorized individuals, users should seek alternatives to e-mail when it is necessary to provide sensitive or personal information. Likewise, CTCU will not use e-mail to transmit sensitive or personal information that can compromise or violate a user's privacy.
